PAUL BEARER AUDIO INTERVIEW

So last month we had Paul Bearer to do a spoken word in Montreal and we had the chance to have a little talk with the man after. He was real cool and humble, we had fun hanging out with him the next day too. I went record shopping with him and it was great. Here's a part of our conversation, topics included Montreal, Voivod, Henry Rollins, sunburns and much more. The rest will be featured in the second issue of the zine (yeah you read it right, the second issue.) Enjoy! -Hugo

SLAUGHTERHOUSE

WITHDRAWAL - PROMISED HEAVEN , GIVEN HELL

Withdrawal Demo 2008: Promised Heaven, Given Hell

From Winnipeg, Canada, comes this young 5 piece of pissed and metallic hardcore, Withdrawal. Like they said on their myspace, negative music by negative people. If you are into bands like Since the Flood, Buried Alive, Living Hell and the Holy Church, this is gonna be one of your new favorite acts. I think they only got the demo out for now, but they are working on the new 7'' as we speak, and they will tour the Western Canada in March. I hope they'll come to the East coast soon.

NAYSAYER - DEMO

Virginia has some good bands in the few last years, like Iron Boots, Victim or Murder Weapon, just for example. At the moment, they've got Naysayer. This band really finds their sound, all 4 tracks got the same kinda vibe. They remind me of Think I Care, early Madball, and Sheer Terror in some ways. They got a song on the new Mercy For None compilation and a new 7'' coming up, both on Reaper Records. We also heard about maybe a US tour with Trapped Under Ice in the summer. Be sure to check those guys out.

UNFORGIVEN - LAST OF THE FEW

Connecticut always had bands i loved old to the new, and i got more to add to my list.I was very into Deadwrong so when i heard that Ivan was fronting another band. I had no choice but to listen to it. Unforgiven are a new band but the guys are not in their first effort after playing in bands like Ambitions,Shai hulud and I rise. They are playing are very heavy, angry hardcore with some catchy guitar lead,a bit of double bass and some violents dance parts.Every song is particular but i can feel the merauder influence at some part, i don't know why but i feel the singing back up at the end of the first track. For all the peeps who likes good music, this should be in your collection between you 100 demons and integrity cds.

Holy shit folks, it's been a while, but you know the deal. You gotta do what you gotta do, right? We try to keep it real, but we got bills to pay and shit to take care of. Anyways, first, we played our 2 first show in Montreal and Quebec City with Trapped Under Ice, Full Blown Chaos, Reign Supreme and Dirty Money. It was a blast, we had a really good time and a good reaction. There's two videos of our Montreal performance at Sizeemup.com (check out the video of Final Word at the same time.CRAZY.) Our boy Nick at Nowhere Fast filmed our set in Quebec, so expect this shit online in the next few weeks. There's aninterview we did with the most hated, Hardtimes.ca. Thanks to Everybody who showed up early to catch us and moved around. You know who you are!

Hugo uploaded a few new beats at

We worked with SEU for the Paul Bearer spoken word, it went really well. A lot of people showed up, and he was a hell of a nice guy, likes fries and BLT sandwiches. Hugo went record shopping with the guy,
too. We got a little audio interview we did with him after the Spoken Word.We will put this online probably and the next weeks.

I hope you all took a look at the first Becky Mize post about the LOA Depression demo. We'll try to work more things with her in the future. Our boy Dannybrooklyn is supposed to give us a little tourdiary of the times he's had on the road with Product Of Waste. Open your eyes for this and much more in the next few weeks. We're also waiting/working on a few interviews and reviews as well. If you wanna write on the blog or for the zines, holla at your boys lifersmontreal@gmail.com !

The shirt situation is being sketchy, I'll try to give you more news on this pretty soon. Issue 2 will be out for this spring.

The Mercy For None comp is out right now, so grab that shit. Reaper also put out a few Maximum Penalty designs, they are all dope.
