HARMS WAY - REALITY APPROACHES

Chicago's Harm's Way is the angriest band going on right now, and this LP is here to prove it. They've got 8 new songs, the 2 songs they released a couple months ago as a 7'', and an acoustic song. I'm really glad that they strayed away from the power violence type shit, but I can deal with a few blast beats. It gives it a degenerate touch sometimes. Lots of apocalyptic and slow grooves with a few mid tempos and harsh vocals. I think it comes just in a vinyl version, but they give a digital download card with it. If you never heard this band, imagine if half of Napalm Death and half of Carcass had created Ringworm. I'm pretty sure this gives you a good idea of what the end of the world would sound like.

JERK CITY - DEMO

Usually, it's not really my kind of stuff to be honest, but I can tell that this band called Jerk City is good. When I first heard about them, the only things I knew was that Danny from Shattered Realm was singing and that they said they were influenced by bands like Lifetime and Kid Dynamite. The songs are really catchy and melodic, but still aggressive and groovy. Danny's vocals have a nice intensity, and his tone fits really well, with plenty of good patterns. They remind me a bit of H20, old Propagandhi and Bouncing Souls at some points. If you need something fresh for the summer, you should consider this as a very good option.
