NO TRUCE/CRUCIFIED SPLIT

No Truce/Crucified
The first 2 songs are by No Truce from California. They play a very aggressive hardcore with a metallic edge at some points. No bullshit, no singing parts, just straight up angry music with a lot of grooves, open chords and mid tempos. Fans of Turmoil, Hatebreed and Cold as life should enjoy them. Then, Florida's newest sensation, Crucified, has the last 4 songs, and it's the same tracks as their demo, but probably remastered or something. They're also playing some pissed off and heavy type of shit who sound like some old Ringworm with a modern, twisted touch. They just dropped a new split with Steel Nation on Double Nothing Or Records. Both bands are good and have lots of talent, I hope that everybody will check them out.

PULLING TEETH - PARANOID DELUSIONS/PARADISE ILLUSIONS EP

Pulling Teeth is a band I always liked but never really got blown away by. They're a great live band, but their releases never really got constant playtime in my headphones. "Paranoid Delusions/Paradise Illusions," their latest EP, just changed this. When "Bloodwolves" leaked online, I fell on my ass. Definitely a step further from the Pulling Teeth I once knew. Their sound has matured into something ferocious that is reminiscent of Converge, or "Seasons In The Size of Days"-era Integrity, with a twisted post-hardcore/post-rock sound in the mix. The fast Slayer-esque riffs are still there, but the songs are much more well-crafted and really shows that they're now on another level.

"Bloodwolves" is definitely the standout track. When I first listened to it, the first thing that came to my mind when the second part started was "Holy shit, this just sounds like the melody from LL Cool J's 'I Need Love.'" After comparing both songs I found out that they aren't the same, but still real close. Pretty cool if you ask me. The album ends with a 9 minute gloomy instrumental track which is listenable, even though it may scare some people away.

The artwork is amazing, and it's done by Jeff Beckman who also did some of their art before. This EP is definitely one of the best metallic-hardcore release that's come out in the last few years, and I'm really looking forward to PT releasing an LP as great as this.

What's up world? It's us again, 2009 is starting slow, but expect some new things here and there pretty soon. Expect some video interviews we've done with Sam & Justice from TUI, and our boy Stephan from CT. Those interviews will be online in the next few days.

We got our first batch of shirts, we still got a few left. We'll get more soon and maybe another design too. We still got some copies of Lifers Issue 1. We can work out a little deal if you take a zine and Tee. Email us for orders.

Lifers issue 2 is coming, slowly but surely. It's gonna be smaller than the first one, but just as good.

We just did our third show couple weeks ago, and we had a blast. We opened up for Have Heart, Coliseum, Polar Bear Club and Trapped Under Ice. We'll get the whole set online very soon. We'll be recording our demo around the end of April with our boy Rick from Expectorated Sequence, it's gonna be probably 4 songs plus an intro and an outro. We're playing with Madball, Wisdom In Chains and Cruel Hand. And that day is my birthday! Let's party. We'll be opening the show, so get there early and buy your tickets in advance, it's gonna sell out. Get at us if you need one.

So Cheap Thrills got a new song out, be on the look out for their new album. You can pre order it right here.
